Hall  Of Railway Heritage
Model and full size equipment and minatures depicting the history of railways around the world and in Thailand. Chatuchak Park  Kamphaengphet Road, open  Saturday and Sunday from 9.00-18.00. Free Entrance.

Museums Bankok National Museum Bangkok. Opened in 1874 The Museum was later transferred to “Wang Na”, In 1926, it was re-named  the “Bangkok Museum” and then the National Museum,  It is located Within the walking distance of the Grand Palace this is one of the largest and most comprehensive museums in S.E.

Asia and houses a vast collection of artifacts found in all parts of the country ranging from Neolithic times,Sukhothai, Ayutthaya and later perids. Guided tours in English,Japanese French, German.Closed on, Mondays, Tuesdays, and annual holidays, open from 09.00-16.00. Entrance fee is 40.

Bangkok Doll Museum is a factory/museum, founded in 1956, has a huge collection of dolls in a Japanese/ Thai style dolls, the broad choices of exhibits  appeal to children and adults alike. Dolls on display reflect eighttypes of categories: khons and khon mask, hilltribe people, dolls for chldren, puppets, dolls from other countries, exotic dolls can also be  made to order. Soi Ratchataphan, off Ratchaprarop Rd Entrance Free.

Ban Chang Thai in English House of  Thai Artisans.  Thai puppets are crafted and displayed, occasional shows. They also offer craft courses such as puppet making, gilded painting, Thai motif designing, Thai-style painting, watercolour, oils and chalk drawing. Located at No. 38 Soi 10 Ekamai Road, off  SukhumvitRoad. Open daily from 09.00-17.00.

The Royal Barge National Museum
Amazingly ornately decorated boats or barges the most spectacular of which is Suphanahong, the King’s personal barge. Built in 1911 it resembles a mythical swan, The Royal Barges are one of Bangkok’s most fascinating sights. An incredible collection of unique water craft. between June and October the barges can be seen in procession along the river a spectacular armarda over over 50 boats Entrance fee 10

Prasart Museum A huge collection of ancient artifacts from the pre-historic through Rattanakosin periods of Thai history. 9 Krungthep Kritha Road Soi 4, Bang Kapi open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays 10.00 -15.00 .Entrance 330 inc snack and drink.

Khamthieng Thai House Originally situated in Chiang Mai built over 200 years ago the teak building was dismantled and reconstructed in Bangkok. A very large variety of Thai flora and fauna can be viewed in its gardens. 131 Soi Asoke (Soi 21) Sukhumvit Rd Open daily except Sundays & Mondays from 09.00 – 17.00.

Jim Thomson’s Thai House Jim Thompson a self-made American entrepreneur, founder of the world famous Jim Thompson Thai Silk Company known as the “Legendary American of  Thailand”.

Thompson’s successstory in Thailand has become one of the most renownedlegends of Asia. Today, the charming Thai style house continues to be a key point for visitors to Bangkok. The house consists of six traditional Thai-style houses, teak structures that were purchased from several owners and moved to the present location from various parts of  Thailand.
In 1967, Jim Thompson went to the Cameron Highlands in Malaysia. There he set out for a walk in the surrounding jungle but never returned, thus began the Jim Thompson legend.6 Soi Kasemsan 2, Rama 1 Road Entrance 100

Bangkok National Gallery Museum

The museum exhibits traditional and contemporary works of art created by Thai artists from all areas of the Kingdom. Chao Fa Road opposite the National Museum.
