Those with a sweet tooth will be glad to hear that renowned pastry chef extraordinaire Gerhard J. Greub has joined the staff at the Siam City Hotel in Bangkok.

On a daily basis he is now offering guests plenty of sweet treats to delight their senses along with the regular drinking and dining options at the hotel. Outside of supplementing the dining menu, his high end pastries are also available for in house banquets, weddings, parties, and any various other events.

In the past he has worked with the Caribe Hilton International in Puerto Rico, the Swissotel International in Zurich, Rosewood Hotels in Dallas, Tavern on the Green in New York, Four Seasons Hotels in Chicago, and the Miami Grand Bay Hotel. From 1994-2009 he also ran his own successful business in Lake Forest, Illinois called Gerhard’s Elegant European Desserts.

Luckily for us, Gerhard is now calling Bangkok home and tantalising guests, locals and staff alike with his divine creations. Whether it’s his signature chocolate marjolaine cake, chestnut and apricot galette or hazelnut and milk chocolate dome, his culinary masterpieces never fail to look good and taste even better. Chef Gerhard uses only the very best and finest ingredients and is enthusiastic about training his new team of aspiring Siam City pâtissiers.

He strives for excellence and never makes concessions that compromise on quality or presentation. His products are made with fresh and selective raw materials and are produced with the utmost care and knowledge. “I am a very hands-on chef who likes to be creative”, says Gerhard, “for me, less is more, I like to keeps things simple and use only the best ingredients and techniques to produce to most pleasing of cakes to suit even the most demanding of gourmet palates.”

Come in and enjoy confectionery delicacies such as individual desserts, cakes, mini pastries and tarts from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily. In addition, homemade breakfast pastries like chocolate croissants, cinnamon rolls, country apple turnovers, coffee cakes and more are available fresh out of the oven every morning.

Not to mention that buttery French brioche and an assortment of crusty European breads are also made fresh daily. So why not indulge in some of Gerhard’s fine work any time of day in the lovely outdoor Garden Pavilion at the Bakery Café; during a leisurely high tea in the City Lounge or until your stomach bursts at Patummat during our daily breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet service.
